The PAMPERO electric glider is an all-around model featuring ailerons, flaps, and a V-tail. It performs well both in thermals and on the slope, and its robust construction ensures high structural integrity. The fuselage incorporates 0.8 mm steel wires and a 6/4 mm carbon fiber tube. Thanks to its open-structure design, a fiberglass mat can be bonded into the floor of the fuselage to withstand extreme loads.
Depending on the weight in the tail, the forward section of the fuselage (R1) can be built in two versions: R1L (which is 20 mm longer) or R1K. Correspondingly, there are two canopy options: KH1L and KH1K. The central fuselage section (R4) is bolted to the main fuselage; two wing variants are available, along with two corresponding R4 section options (R4-A and R4-B). Wing A features a trapezoidal planform, while Wing B has an elliptical shape; both utilize the HS16 airfoil.
The tail unit is also available in two versions: on version A, the control surfaces are attached using adhesive hinges, while version B uses film hinges. The tail unit is attached by sliding it into place and securing it with an M3x5 mm cheese-head screw on each side. A dedicated assembly jig is provided to assist in fabricating the control linkages using 2 mm bent steel wire and 4 mm ball links.
The battery tray and servo tray are secured within the fuselage using M2x5 mm countersunk screws. Additionally, a retainer—fixed in place with M2x5 mm cheese-head screws—is provided for the battery tray to secure the battery’s position. This ensures that the battery can always be easily replaced while remaining in a consistent position. To secure the electronic speed controller (ESC), battery, and receiver, Velcro tape is applied to the battery tray and the servo tray.
For the control surfaces, the design calls for four KST-HS08A servos in the wing and two KST-HS08B servos elsewhere. The servos in the wing are installed using mounts from “servorahmen.de,” featuring an IDS (Integrated Drive System) linkage and a “MINI” pushrod. The control surfaces in the wing come with pre-cut openings precisely sized for the IDS connectors.
